People with Anxiety go through the day filled with exaggerated worry and tension, even though there is little or nothing to cause it. They foresee disaster and are overly concerned about health issues, money, family problems, or difficulties at work. Sometimes just the thought of getting through the day produces worry and panic.
People with anxiety can't seem to get rid of their concerns, even though they usually realise that their anxiety is more exaggerated than the situation deserves. They can't relax and have difficulty concentrating. Often they have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Some of the physical symptoms that often accompany anxiety include:
fatigue,
headaches,
muscle tension,
muscle aches,
difficulty swallowing,
trembling,
twitching,
irritability,
sweating,
nausea,
breathlessness
and light headedness (and more)
My hypnotic approach to treating anxiety disorders incorporates two aspects: treating the symptoms and uncovering the root causes.
I address the symptoms by teaching you coping and relaxation skills.
I teach Self-hypnosis, which is useful for relaxation.
I instruct and teach skills to aid in coping with anxious thoughts
and worries, stress and tension from various therapies including
hypnosis, NLP, psychotherapy and kinesiology.
These skills include refocusing, distraction, cognitive reframing,
thought interruption and deep breathing…..
I use analytical hypnotherapy techniques for uncovering, reprocessing and reframing the root causes of anxiety disorders. To do this, I explore, and reframe your prior anchored experiences from which your underlying, negative fixed ideas originated. The goal is to change these negative fixed ideas because these are the ideas that fuel your anxieties. Fears, anxiety, panic and phobias can be controlled using these methods and you can learn to “collapse” these anxious thoughts and in their place, "replace” them with positive, realistic coping thoughts into your subconscious and conscious minds. These finally become “imprinted” into your subconscious mind.
When you learn and practice Self Hypnosis, you can mentally practice and rehearse these effective relaxation and coping skills so that they become conscious AND subconscious habits. This is a very important component of your healing.
